Hospital Policies

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

For your convenience, 'drop-off' appointments are available. A 'drop off' means you could bring your cat at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask you to 'drop off' sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done, she will give you a call to go over the diagnosis and to give you discharge instructions.

For the safety of all cats in our care and for our staff, we require that all patients be up to date on rabies vaccines. Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other cats. We recommend that cats be placed in pet carriers before entering the waiting room.

Please bring all medications your cat is currently taking with you to every appointment.

Appointment Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to make the scheduled time please contact our office to reschedule the appointment as soon as possible. We set aside time in our schedule to perform surgeries and we ask that you call to reschedule your surgery appointment at least 2 business days in advance so that other sick patients may be seen.

All surgeries, second opinion exams, and multi-cat appointments require a credit card to be kept on file. If the appointment is not cancelled at least 2 business days in advance, then a cancellation fee will be added to your account and charged to the card on file.

If your surgery has been cancelled more than once, you will be required to drop your cat off the night before the procedure.

Boarding Policy

We offer boarding services to our clients only.

All cats must have a negative feline leukemia and FIV test on record from a veterinary office. Any cat that spends time outside must have a yearly feline leukemia vaccine and FeLV/FIV test. A cat that has had a lapse between vaccines must be tested again. While boarding, your cat(s) are always at a slight risk of contracting an upper respiratory infection(URI). While we take every precaution possible to avoid undue stress and illness, please be aware that immunizations do not prevent your cat from getting sick - they only prevent the most virulent form of the disease. By state law, it is required that your cat be up to date on their rabies vaccine and we require a current upper respiratory vaccine to board.

While your cat is in our care, if he/she becomes ill, the doctor on staff will examine him/her and treat accordingly. You will be responsible for these charges. We ask that you provide a phone number and an email address if available. We will not contact you if the problem is not deemed serious, unless you indicate otherwise on your boarding forms. If you indicate that you want to be contacted prior to your cat being examined we will attempt to wait. If in the event that the problem your cat is experiencing is life threatening we will begin to stabilize while we exhaust every possibility to contact you.

The time for pick up is between 6:00-6:30pm. We do require to know in advance if you are going to pick up your cat(s) on Sunday. You can schedule Sunday pick up from boarding at the time that you make the boarding reservation, or if you are unsure you can let us know by calling the clinic and either speaking with an employee or leaving a message on our machine. There will be an additional $15.50 fee for Sunday pick up.

Due to high the demand in boarding during the holiday seasons, we do require a deposit upon scheduling. Your deposit will go toward the final cost of your service and will be forfeited if the appointment/reservation is not cancelled at least 2 business days in advance.
